Silly Question: Those w HW Floors - barefoot or slippers?
I grew up ALWAYS wearing slippers in the house. Then I got married and moved, the house happened to have wall to wall carpeting (which was so not me  ) so I got used to being barefoot all day.
Now that we have HW floors, some days Im on my feet ALL DAY cleaning, chores, etc. that my feet hurt from the standing on hard wood all day. The first few weeks that we got the floors were an adjustment too... I noticed my feet hurt and just felt achy.
I dont have any true problems with my feet THANK GOD  but I was jsut wondering if I should start wearing some soft slippers around the house to prevent any long term problems.
Also those with kids - my SIL ALWAYS has my nephew in some sort of slippers... my boys take their shoes off the second they walk in the door... should I have them in some sort of slippers in the house? Right now only one room in the house is carpeted, and they watch TV in there. Their playroom and bedroom have an area rug, the rest of the house is hW or laminate or tile....

For me it's more of a temp thing.
Winter my tootsies get cold so slippers.
Spring/fall socks

I couldn't vote since I almost always wear socks, not barefoot. I don't like the feel of carpet on my feet.

We just switched from carpet to HW and my feet are killing me too. I just went to the podiatrist today b/c have a problem with one foot and he said its exacerbated by the harder walking surface and told me to wear rubber soled shoes or even slippers, the more padding between the HW & your feet, the better. Thats in my case, but I suppose that would apply in general.

I like walking around barefoot but only on carpet. When I'm on the first floor, I wear slippers. I hate flip flops and don't want to get socks dirty.

winter is 100% socks, maybe slippers too if if I feel like it.
Summer is barefoot or flipflops-if I'm going in & out to the yard alot I wear flip flops, If I'm inside like now I'm barefoot. I hate having anything covering my toes when the weather is warm.
DH always bugs me about the socks in the winter because I've slipped dowm the wood stairs twice already.

I live in flip flops in the house - I hate being barefoot. Kevin wears socks or socks with Robeez in the winter (I am on a slab so it is cold on the floor). I don't have hw but laminate flooring right now - but gettin hw soon!!!

when I wear slippers I feel lazy. So I tend to wear nothing. Socks are too slippery. we don't have carpet on the stairs, and I can't run to the phone when it rings in socks.

Always some kind of slippers or flip flops.
Even if I vacuum every day, the dog still sheds buckets of black hair and I wind up looking like I have Hobbit Feet if I go barefoot!
