I have an interview tomorrow...
With a NYC school
So they didn't tell me what position they were hiring for, can anyone give me some insight on what their first interview was like?

I interviewed with a few different NYC schools and honestly each one was different.
One school gave me a tour and a quick 1st interview.
The second school, had me come in to do a demo (on the last day of school). No interview.
The third school hired me on the spot.

Good luck Moe!
If the position will have anything to do with literacy, they will ask you about balanced literacy and the reading/writing workshop.
They will likely ask about management and discipline. Also, "philosophy of education" still seems to be a popular question.
Also, it may be a good idea to go on the Inside Schools website and look up the school- it will give you some objective info and will help you come up with some questions to ask them.
