I have to break some sad news to DH...
His Godmother just died of a sudden heart attack at age 51. She was on vacation in Florida with her family.
DH didn't always get to see her so much but at every family party he enjoyed talking to her and catching up on things. He was always very fond of her. My FIL told me this morning. DH is not home because he is at school. All the teachers are meeting to come up with a new schoold curriculum.
DH's Godmother and my FIL were cousin's. I just called DH's sister and she was in complete shock when I told her. I tried calling DH on his cell but got his voice mail and I certainly wasn't going to tell him the news on his voice mail.

Last time we saw her was at my son's christening party. I remember her saying how much Matthew looked like my husband on the day she christened him. She was 13 years old when she christened DH. My MIL is going to be shocked too. She and my FIL have been divorced for years but still get along and when her nephew died in May my FIL came to the wake, so she is going to be shocked when she hears the news. I called DH's sister and was wondering if I should have called his brothers. DH and his sister are close so I figured i'd tell her and then maybe she can be the one to break it to the rest of the family. Or maybe my FIL may have called his sons to tell them...

Life really is too short and you just never know what can happen to you today or tomorrow...

Life really is too short and you just never know what can happen to you today or tomorrow...
And I always tell DH that we should have some kind of will stating who would take our son if God forbid anything were to happen to us. Knock on wood...
It's scary to think about it but you just don't know what could happen to you at any moment and right now I feel like making up a will and just making sure that my son would be taken care of.
