I have to hold off on TTC
Im sad right now.. well i guess i have to hold off on ttc for now .. DH is leaving his full time job to go work full time for another company ..since he just finished going to school and is now going to start working in the trade he just finished learning - but that company does not offer benefits as of yet its a new company.. they are already established in the city but the owner just started a second company on the island so somethings are still in the works.. he will still work part time at his old job .... we asked about being able to do cobra since he will drop from full time status and they told us cobra is not an option.... cobra can only be an option if DH quits ... but he cant afford to quit that extra money will come in handy for us right now as we are moving into our new house tomorrow..
So im sad and upset ... we looked into healthy new york but do not qualify as we make too much money for just being a 2 person family..
At a loss right now .. not sure what i can do

Re: I have to hold off on TTC
Would you just pay to have reg health insurance? It is def expensive, but might be worth it! How long until his other company will give him insurance?

Did you look into getting your own insurance in the meantime.
Try www.einsurance.com

Re: I have to hold off on TTC
It may not be a bad idea to get an individual policy until he is entitled to coverage at his job.
Regardless if you are TTC or not you shouldn't be without health insurance. Gosh forbid an emergency happened, you don't want to get stuck with huge medical debt!

Re: I have to hold off on TTC
Maybe ask the old company if he can "quit" for a week so that he can get the COBRA and then be "rehired" as a part time employee? Or maybe he can get benefits as a PT employee and just pay more for them?

Re: I have to hold off on TTC
Don't give up keep trying it could take 3 to 6 months to get preggo. Just keep trying the natural way and see what happens. Things somehow always work their way out. Good luck

Re: I have to hold off on TTC
It could take a bit to get a BFP and even then the doctor wouldn't see you until you are 7-8 weeks typically. However, I think you should try to get an individual policy, not having health insurance is NEVER a good idea. Good Luck

Re: I have to hold off on TTC
I am waiting for the same reason....it sucks. Everything has a way of working out. I would definately try to get some coverage in the mean time. Even if you have to pay for it. Good luck.
