I just can't avoid stress during this cycle!

We had a family emergency tonight and I'm still emotionally freaked out. Long story, not-so-short, short: my 86 yr old grandmother (my only living relative-both my parents are gone and I'm all she's got), who lives by herself, had a varicose vein just start bleeding randomly, but it wouldn't stop...and she's on blood thinners. She lives an hour away, so I had her call 911 and I called a neighbor of hers and thankfully she was able to go over until ems got there. We got to the hospital an hour later and after touring the ER, find out she was already sent home! They stitched it up and it was fine. Her ankle and foot are swollen, but I guess that's to be expected. She's a trooper.
We stayed with her for about 5 hours and it seems she is ok-making jokes, walking on it. The murder scene that is her living room, is another story. I'm still sleeping with the phone next to me.

In the midst of all this, we had to do my injections.

I'm officially fried.

I'm so glad she's ok but sorry that you had to go through this! Blood thinners can be so scary! My grandma is on them and I worry about that all the time- I have to take her to get bloodwork done once a month and it's never right- they've been adjusting it for 4 years now! Just when they think it's right, the next month it differs again I guess that's the body...
Try to rest up and relax as much as you can. There's no such thing as a stress free cycle IMO anyway, but we just have to do the best we can

I am so glad your grandmother is ok.You poor thing. I think stress is definitely hard to avoid during this time. Plus your hormones are in overdrive.

Thanks :) I spoke to her this morning and she was able to sleep fine. Her foot is still swollen, but she can walk on it and her spirits are high. I was super relieved that she made it through the night without incident. Now I can relax a little...or try.
