I know they say when you are pregnant you are clumsy but this tops the cake...(for me anyway)
I was going down the steps in my house last night to get my cell phone from my jacket, and I fell down the stairs. I don't know how it happened, but I fell and my left leg and big toe went back and the next thing you know I'm on my a**. At first I was a little shocked at what happened, and then I started to laugh - out of nervousness. My DH came RUNNING to me and I told him I was fine, but there was something wrong w/my toe.
Well..I called the doctor, and she asked if I had fallen on my belly and I told her I hadn't. She recommended I come in today for an ultrasound and I did..baby is FINE thank god! As a matter of fact she seemed to be relaxed with her legs crossed..LOL!
Now as for my toe - well..that's a different story. I broke it. My big toe of all toes!! Unfortunately there isn't anything that can be done for it other than keeping it elevated, wrapped and iced. I just can't believe this is happening! I broke my pinky toe (same foot) a few years back.
Tomorrow is my b-day and DH had plans for us to go out..well that's shot to h e l l.
UGH!

My Mom broke her foot while she was PG w/ my sister - she fell down the stairs ........
I am a a klutz on a normal day so I am SO SO careful (even now, before I have the belly!!)

Ugh! I'm so sorry! Glad baby is okay!!
I badly sprained my foot and broke 2 toes when I was 15 weeks. Since I was still considered early in my pregnancy, they didn't want to do any more xrays than what I had in the ER after I tripped over the curb. I was instructed to stay off my foot for 2 weeks, because they also didn't want me walking with the crutches unless absolutely necessary.

Sounds like your birthday will have to be celebrated with take-in dinner. Sorry about your toe but relieved that the baby was unaffected.

Thanks ladies :). I don't think my job will take too kindly to me having to stay home and what's worse..I start Grand Jury Duty on Halloween!!

OMG, glad you and baby are ok but sorry about your toe! Must be pregnancy throwing us off balance b/c I did something similar last week. I tripped going on a bathroom mat at 3am going to pee and thought I broke my big toe. It literally bent underneath my foot when it got caught under hte mat!
It swelled up and was all bruised but I didn't go to the dr b/c like you said, there isn't much you can do for a broken toe anyway. So I gave it a few days of icing it, staying off of it and soaking it in warm water and it's slowly healing. I think I am going to lose the nail, and I previously lost that nail once already.
I was so annoyed, like, who needs a damn broken toe now?!!!
Can you bend your toe? I could slightly bend it, but now I can bend it much better one week later. And did you get an xray/how did the dr know it was broken?

I fell on Wednesday and my knee is BADLY bruised and swollen
So glad the baby is OK!!
Sorry about your toe though
I think we lose our sense of balance or something LOL
