They say pets know you are pregnant and become protective, but.....
Who knew a parakeet would be like this? Piglet is 6 years old and has never been a bird that likes to land on us. (He's landed on us twice in 6 years. I had him for 3 years before moving in with DH.) He's unlike every other parakeet I've ever had because he's independent.
DH was heading to bed earlier than me, so I layed beside him until he got tired. We were cuddling and he was stroking my hair. Suddenly Piglet comes in the room, surveys the scene, and lands on my head. He walks right over to DH's hand and bites him. Then he just stood upon my head, staring at DH. Finally he flew away. Two minutes later he flies back in and lands on DH's chest. He stands right in front of my face, staring at DH as if to say 'What did you do to my mommy?' We couldn't stop laughing.
Typically he's loved DH more than me, but now he likes cuddling with me. Here's the face that DH saw staring at him: Image Attachment(s):

That is very funny! When I got pregnant DH's dogs (that he's had since he was previously married to ex wife) stuck to me like glue and started ignoring him!

Its funny, I have an African Gray and he was acting funny when I was preggo too. He doesn't like DH at all (I had the bird before I was with DH) but the bird was extra clingy when I was preggo. I didn't think it would affect a bird but I guess it does
