I know this has been asked...but what color is your basement?
We're picking out colors today and we're all over the place with it...
Do you think we necessarily need to go with a light color since natural light is limited?

Ours WAS white.. and then I wanted something brighter and funkier since it is mostly a play room/game room.
yeah.. it's bright now. Sunshine Yellow and Carribean Blue.

Ours is neutral tan- I think the color is called Parisian Toape.

We went with BM Hawthorne Yellow because we wanted it bright and cheerful and to be a kid-friendly family room.

We just had ours painted this week and we had the toughest time picking a color! The one we picked I LOVE! It is neutral, light, but gives contrast to the mouldings, etc. It is BM White Sand. I don't have pictures yet.

The previous owners finished the basement - it was covered in paneling - it looked exactly like a finnish sauna, minus the steam and towel clad men.
We painted the paneling BM elephant tusk. I'd call it a light beige color. Carpeting is also in the beige/light brown family.
