I know this is a shot in the dark but, is ANYONE'S companies hiring on this board? I really really need a job!
I have tried every way to social network myself at this point and I figured to just throw it out there on here too. So, please all of you that are currently employed, please just do a random act of kindness today and find out if your place of business is hiring. If you could get back to me with a contact HR person that would be great! Need job dust

An Administrative Assistant position, preferably an Executive Assistant position but, I would consider a lower level Administrative Assistant position at this point.
I also have medical background experience and knowledge of medical terminology. I also am familiar with legal and investigative background as well.
I would like to stay on L.I. I would travel as far into Nassau for example: Franklin Square, and out east as far out as Hauppauge.
I really would be open to anything right now.

I know there are positions open at CA in Islandia (right next to hauppauge) - see ca.com/careers.
Also, Lloyd Staffing has several listings for LI assistant positions they are looking to fill. See http://www.lloydstaffing.com/jobbank/.
I also saw a position at Canon in New Hyde Park.

I know Suffolk County Nat'l bank is hiring P/T at their Deer Park location for a teller. They have a sign in the branch.
They advanced people rather quickly there.
It's a foot in the door, you know?

i saw a job posted in the American Express careers section. It would be located in NYC so Idon't know if that would be an issue. (i know it's not an internal "in" but maybe it will be useful?) good luck

Have you considered home care agencies?
I know the positions are not glamourous, and I don't know how good the pay would be, but I know they seem to be hiring often.
I know in particular a lot of these companies need people who can do the scheduling/staffing of cases.
With a background in the medical field, you may be able to find something.
The ones who work at my agency seem to like it, even though there is stress some days. Many people have been in the role for awhile, and even advanced up to be office manager.
FM me and I can give you some names of companies to try.

Thank you! It went really well. I was there for 2 hours. The first 20 minutes was filling out the usual paperwork and taking a test.
I was told that they want me to come back in for a second interview. The lady I met with also showed me around the building and I don't think that she would have bothered to do that if she wasn't interested. Fingers and toes crossed! I HAVE to get this job! I must! I will! Power of positive thinking!
