We can not help ourselves but to laugh when we get stupid phone calls from stupid people.

We got a call today wanting to order a "CIRCUS board" for their machine

I worked in a library one summer and it was pretty much the high light of what we did Chat Icon

It's really made me think twice before I open my mouth to ask a question in places.

Oh yeah, when I worked in a library we did this too. Sounds mean, but it takes some of the stress off of dealing with all kinds of people.

every freaking day.

i had a client call who has to have their fingerprints taken--and they received the appointment for the fingerprints---with an explicit date and time on it direct from the fingerprint location

the date is on a saturday----so she called to find out if the fingerprint location is open on saturdays. um.....THEY sent you the appointment and it SAYS : "Saturday xxxxx at 1pm" um...YES!!!!!!

I did when I worked in retail and the restaurant business (and a few times when I was in daycare- some people should be forced to take parenting courses Chat Icon)

Um, yes. Well in my case they are users not exactly customers or clients.

When you get helpdesk calls that read like this:

"Jane* said lightening hit the building and now she can't use any of her programs. Please assist."

HOW CAN YOU NOT?!?! Chat Icon

*Names have been to changed to protect the uh, not-so-bright And yes, this was an actual real call, not a dramatization.

Re: (I know this is bad but...) Do you ever make fun of your customers / clients?

Yes!

And some of the parents are really bad so they get special names..one of my tutors actually started this... one mom was really a pain, and her last name was Smith so she became "La Smith"..so all diva parents are "La whatever"..or if they are so bad they might need their own name, so I have "The Duchess" and "Madame Smith"...

I also like to lovingly make fun of some of the essays I have to grade.

Yesterday I graded one essay where a kid said that Martin Luther King Jr was unsuccessful at abolishing slavery...

And another kid wrote a very well-written essay that was basically a love letter to Eli manning
