My 4 year old got his first papercut yesterday - It was pretty bad (bleeding) but we try to downplay injuries in our house.
First thing he said is "Mommy I have blood on my finger!" I said "It's ok." He replied "No Mommy, not the blood IN MY FINGER, this is OUTSIDE of the vein in my fingers!"

My coworker got one yesterday and we started talking about it!
They hurt like h e l l!!!
Try to get neosporin on it. That usually helps...sometimes.
