I know this topic has probably been done before... but.... swine flu vaccine thoughts?!
I went to my gynecologist yesterday to talk about TTC, going off my pill, etc.......... and of course the subject of the swine flu vaccine came up.
He is recommending that I DO get it. Honestly though, I am really apprehensive about the idea of getting it......
What's everyone else's thoughts? Will you be getting the swine flu shot while pregnant?
I should also add that I'm a teacher so I'm in a particularly high risk category  Other than that though, no health conditions

Not getting the swine flu vaccine. Will prob get a regular flu shot, not sure yet. I use to get it every year working in health-care. Now I am not working so I am wondering if I really need it, my only concern would be picking it up on the train, or at the supermarket etc..

i'm def going to get the regular flu shot, but probably not the swine flu.
it's too new and we don't know the side effects. i've read articles that it can cause nerve damage, something called gayane barre (sp?) syndrome

I never get the regular flu shot and am definetly not getting the swine flu vaccine.

I went to my reg physician for my blood test (to confirm pregnancy) and he is recommending the vaccine of which I normally have to beg him for a flu shot/ antibiotics. IDK what to do at this point.

Just posted a thread about this on the NFR board. There is a video there and I will tell you that I am NOT getting the regular flu shot or the swine flu shot.

my gyno said the same to me. I am a teacher as well.
He also reccomended me not getting pregnant till after the swine dies down...anyone elses say this?

I got the regular flu shot (Mercury free of course) and am not going to do anything about the swine flu until I actually get pg...then I will worry about i t and consult my doctor. My innitial thought is no...too new! As for flu I got it because I KNOW my doc reocmmends it for women who are pg...and I didn't want to take it when I am hopefully pg and would rather do so before I get pg...
