I listed my old sofa on Craigslist and I'm afraid for people to come see it

I posted an ad on Craigslist for my old Ikea sofa...I'm only asking $75 but I'll take $50, lol. We just got new furniture delivered today and I am GLAD to be rid of it.

In one hour, I have already had five people asking to come and see it.

How do I handle it? First come, first serve?

Also, I am SCARED of freaks showing up at my door. The couch is in the garage so they won't be coming inside at all. I am going to make sure my DH is home when they come to see it. Any other tips?

Well, if they are all willing to pay the $75 without talking you down before they come to see it do first come first serve. Definitely make sure your DH is home and make sure you don't let them into your house. A stranger is a stranger!

I sold a lot of extra furniture on craigslist in Feb (less to move) and when people came to check it out I always made sure DH was home too and always went with first come, first serve. Whoever emailed me first and could get it the fastest I honored.

I've been very lucky, so far all relatively nice people.

I say first come, first serve. Take it from a freak, I just went and picked up baby furniture from a lady's house today off of a craigslist ad!!
