I love my son to pieces...
but it's really starting to get to me.
Cleaning off his, um, "package" that is. It's weird b/c as a teen, there were 9 kids I babysat for on a regular basis...only 2 of them were girls and most were in diapers. With my first, I wanted a boy. Now that I have a boy of my own, I feel so wrong and guilty looking at and touching his little weewee. I guess it's too much Law & Order: SVU...but it seems kind of dirty to me.

Re: I love my son to pieces...
I'll admit it - I'm still a little intimidated by my son's "package" as well.
I'm always afraid I'm hurting him, but you have to move it all around to get the poo out.
I'm always consulting DH.

Re: I love my son to pieces...
sometimes I think I am too free with it. Leo won't touch it and my mother can't look at it.
Leo hates when I tell him to make sure the baby's willie is pointed down.

i've never really given it any thought, especially as to whether or not it's appropriate. i'm sure you'll get more comfy as time goes on. just wait until he's a squirmy toddler that you're trying to clean up!

Yeah. I know what you mean.
My mom and dad look hysterical when they change him b.c they had two girls. My mom said last week "make sure his pecker isn't toward me"
On the other hand, my girlfriend JUMPED to change him and DH is CONVINCED she was checking it out

I was a bit phased the first couple times I gave him a bath, but now it's just routine.
PS I love everyone's avatar pics! They're all so smiley and cute!!!

OMG, I have a daughter and I was just talking to DH about this the other day. She sometimes gets sand in her peepee area and I have to really clean it at bathtime...and I was getting all weird about it. And now that she is obsessed about her peepee at all diaper changes, I was way overthinking it.
I stopped watching SVU reruns at night

Or when he realizes its there and won't take his hands off it!
I'm just saying it doesn't phase me as being inappropriate. He's my son and it truly does not phase me when I change him or give him a bath. He knows that it is his private part and knows that not everyone gets to see it.
On another note, he has taken to "cleaning" it in the bath with the washcloth, he says it tickles... I just laugh it off... and tell him to just be careul - I don't want him hurting himself. I don't know how those things actually work!
