 Surprising. Peaceful. Overwhelming.
My water broke 3 and a hlf weeks before my due date. We went to the hopital where I absolutely and repeatedly refused potocin. It was an amazing, peaceful and wonderful experience. (Just to be clear, epidural WAS involved ) I loved my nurses and still remember their names- Mildred and Audrey-and wonderful they were. Benjamin came out on his own exactly 12 hours after I heard that pop of my water breaking all over my sheets. I remember being completely overwhelmed by the love i felt for him and cried because he was so beautiful to me!
 Rapid. Uncomfortable. Amazing.
I had a very quick birth with my daughter. Went into active labour at 9pm and she came out at 1:44am. I was very uncomfortable the entire time. For some reason I thought I would get the same room or at least the room on the same side of the hopital but I didn't and that totally thew me off. ( I know, I am weird  ) Also, my nurse SUCKED. She didn't know what she was doing and I could't understand half of what she was saying because of her horrible accent. Also, I think there was something wrong with my bed and I just could't get comfortable!!! When my daughter was born it was just amazing! It was a completely different love than the one I felt for my son. Just as strong, but more calm, comforting and reassuring. I guess because she was my second child and I wasn't as overwhelmed by all the new emotions and the unknown future ahead.

DD: I did it!!!!!!
(DS - growth sono showing 10lb baby convinced me to have a c-section, he was only 7 lbs 10 oz.
DD - VBAC I still can't believe I got to push her out. I know women all over the world do it every day but for me it was a superwoman moment that I never thought I'd get to have)
