I met with Dr. T!

I had my SIRM consult with Dr. Tortoriello today!
Why didn't I start with this man from the start? He is the first RE who made my endo a priority and is totally giving me a customized treatment protocol. I am not used to this at all! We are starting with immune testing, which can give us answers for the implantation issues. Then we are going onto IVF which will entail a longer cycle with supression, stimming, and then freezing. He immediately saw what went wrong with my last IVF and is pretty confident we will get better quality embryos with different meds and timing.
He is the first Dr to acknowledge my endo and all the pain I went through. That made me tear up. It was very emotional for me to have a Dr finally understand what I have been going through.
I am not thrilled about going into manhattan every week but so many of you ladies have pushed me to travel for quality. I know this will not be forever and I will hopefully be where I need to be. He was so positive and said he truly believes I will be pregnant with my own eggs. So excited!

He is planning to freeze my embryos and have my body supress and relax for three months so there is no inflammation and the uterus will take the embryo successfully.. I found it very interesting!

How are you dealing with the monitoring appointments? So they give you a time to be there usually?

You can choose morning or afternoon. If i choose morning i usually get 8 am and afternoon i get 12pm. Dr. T starts at 9 and goes until 4 i believe. Unlike my old RE i am not in there 17 times during an IVF cycle. I haven't had to go there on the weekend yet either.

Yea, he explained to me that I won't have to be there a million times so I think I can bare it. His monitoring is frm 9-5 but he said he can sometimes go a little later. I think i'll be sticking to the later appointments. Will just have to bring my little guy in with me for random manhattan trips lol he will love it. I live a block away walking from the LIRR so I am thinking I can manage this.

How long was the appointment? Did you have to bring your medical records?

I'm so happy to hear this update! My friend did IVF with this protocol (waiting a few months between retrieval and transfer) and it worked for her. I'm so hopeful for you!

He is amazing and a wonderful person. I have beautiful 22 month twins from my first IVF cycle with him after 3 unsuccessful cycles with a popular doctor on this site. I recommend him to everyone. It was a different world at his office.

Yay! So glad you switched. Trust me I know how you feel. With my new dr I had to travel to white plains 4 times already and will be getting procedures done in manhattan. But it's so worth it with a dr who treats you he's his only patient. ;)

I am so happy to hear this. Different doctor, but FET worked for me for the same reasons Dr. T said to you.

I am glad you figured out a new plan. My question though is, if your embryos didnt freeze after first IVF, How is he sure they will freeze now? I would be scared to even attempt it given the cost of IVF.

I didn't have any embryos to freeze after the first cycle. Only one fertilized. The issue with that is that my RE rushed the cycle and only 4 were mature. The new RE thinks they were not very mature bc the ICSI should have fertilized them and I only had one fertilize. He is changing my med protocol completely and is hoping I will get good mature eggs. I had 10 retrieved so that's a good start.
