I need advice/help... Please.... Is it possible that her rash is being aggravated by the...
higher amount of zinc oxide in the Triple Paste? It's back, and it's horrible - she's red, raw, and bleeding again... I feel horrible for her.... and like a bad mommy... I'm back to putting the Bactroban on her w/Triple Paste.
I bought some Butt Paste - I'm desperate. The Desitin didn't make an ounce of difference, and the A&D seems to be not helping either...
I try keeping her open as much as I can but I'm at a loss.... Do you think it's possible that the TP is actually making her rash worse? Is it possible?
She has a ped appt on Friday, so I'll speak with them then about this. My DD cannot go on like this!

I swear by Triple Paste, however, there have been times it doesn't work. Here is what did:
Mix a little Aquafor with the Gold Bond Baby powder. Put that paste on and then sprinkle cornstarch powder on it too. Really helped us in the past.

And that's why I have been using it.... b/c EVERYONE swears by it.... but I'm wondering if the higher concentration of the zinc or even another chemical/compound in there is making her skin have this reaction....
I am going back out to BRU to return something... I'll stop by WalMart on my way back and see if they have the Gold Bond.
Thanks Trish!
Anyone else w/advice and/or a suggestion???????????

Have you recently changed diaper or wipe brands? My son had a reaction like that to Huggies.

Honestly, I'd call the ped. My niece has a yeast infection problem and it manifests itself as a "diaper rash" they have to use a different medicine!
Poor baby

could it be a yeast infection, and not just a diaper rash? The yeast infection will need antibiotics.

It sounds more like a yeast infection...DD has had them, Lotrimin AF clears it up...and maybe some epsom salts in her bath will soothe it

sounds fungal. the ped can prescribe nystatin or tell you to use an otc med. butt paste, desitin, etc. do nothing if it's fungal. GL!

guess what I learned this week? this awesome organic company--i went there and picked up a ton of wholesale shampoos and things. The inventor no longer makes diaper cream-the oil that works seperates from the cream. I was telling him my son was raw and bleeding-just inside his butt-it was a rash that turned into friction froom walking. He told me to go to health food store and buy "borage oil" It workeddddddddddddddd!!!!! poke a capsule and pour it on. I did this during the day and used caldasene powder at night-it 2 days its almost gone

mix milk of magnesia with a and d and balmax... get back to a paste and then put it on her before she goes to sleep... leave the diaper opened and put another diaper in the top side to help keep it from (number 1 or 2) going all over the place... yes in the morning the crib might be a mess but her rash will be A LOT better
EDIT TO ADD!!!! DO NOT USE ANY FORM OF POWDER!!!!! it is the WORST thing you can do for a rash... you are adding moisture to the skin instead of taking it away. powder when it gets wet makes clumps and sits on the skin which will make it raw red and to bleed

I just told this to Ang... when she had this the first time, the ER ped gave me a script for Nystatin and Bactroban which I filled. I followed up with her ped the next day and he said that it def was not a yeast infection (she had a couple of cases of poo while we were there, so I left her 'naked' per say so that he could see). He told me to just use the Bactroban which worked wonders.

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh another M.... her ped told me that I could use one of the M's - either Mylanta, Maalox, and now you mentioned the MOM.... oh Godddddd.... Thank goodness she has a ped appt on Friday.
I actually stopped using the cornstarch on her about a week ago thinking maybe that it was affecting her little lala.....

Thank you ladies!!!!!!

I even went and bought her Huggies again thinking maybe she has developed some type of allergy to the perfume in the Luvs...

And no Cathy.... I haven't.... she had this diaper rash about a month ago when her lower 2 teeth came in, and it just hasn't gone away..... it had alleviated at times, and then would come back... at times I thought I was winning the battle to find that it found it's way around me and back to her little lala.....

I would honestly not put ANYTHING else on her untilyou see the pediatrician. I would venture to say that she has a yeast infection and I wouldn't want to put anyting else on her that would irritate it.
Emily got them often as a baby. We got prescription Nystatin cream and were told to air her bum out as much as possible and not to use WIPES! We used plain white wash cloths with just warm water. I'd wipe her up and then put her on top of a big waterproof pad, and fan her toosh with the diaper to air her out. I'd do this for 5-10 mins with each diaper change. Along with the cream it helped.

Rylan has had a rash for months now. First they said it was a yeast infection...now they say he just has sensitive skin and now that he's sleeping more at night it's worse. I personally think he might be allergic to Pampers so i'm going to try Huggies again. The ped just recommended I use vaseline with every diaper change but it hasn't helped at all. Thankfully it doesn't bother him...it's just red and dry but it looks like he has a red diaper on...it's the same shape as his diaper which is why I think it could be the diapers.

Either way --- using just plain warm water instead of wipes and letting her air out will help. You can fan off her patchoola too!

I know it sounds weird, but my DS had a horrible rash when he was brand new and the doctor said it was probably a diaper rash with some yeast in it so he told us to put monistat 7 on it first, then add triple paste on top. That was the only thing that worked. Hope she feels better.

My ds had never had a single rash for 10 months and then all of a sudden he had red spots on his private area, but nothing on his cooley at all! I put desitin on it for a week and it only got worse! I took him to the ped and he said it was def an infection and in 2 days(w/prescription cream)it was GONE!!!
