I need advice Re: getting two kids out of the car and in the house
Ok i know this sounds silly to ask HOW to do this but hear me out...
I pick up the kids at the sitters around 320-330. it can take anywhere form 30-45 muinutes to get home depending on traffic. If dd hasnt napped she passes out in the car which is fine BUT she hates to be woken up and is a LUNATIC when we get home. I have to juggle my bags and my 7 month old and a screaming 2 year old up a bunch of outside steps and then more inside. The inside ones are not a problem i leave her at the bottm bring him up and then go back for her. But the outside ones she literally locks her body so she wont move and i end up dragging her practically up the steps while she is screaming. Then it takes abut 10 minutes to calm down inside the house.
We rent in a private hosue so usually i park right out front or maybe one or two houses away. if i really needed to i could park in the driveway and then move it later. Should i run one up at a time? I dont know what to do?

I would run up one at a time - it is dangerous to be juggling 2 kids when one is unhappy on steps

Re: I need advice Re: getting two kids out of the car and in the house
Once DD came along I had DS walk into the house. He is 2.5 and sometimes doesn't want to come in but I start walking into the garage and I ask him and he sees that I am not coming back to get him and he comes in. He will ususally start his tantrum of some sort inside though .

I would take out the baby. Lock the car, bring him up into his crib. Run down for her. If you have to park further away, I wouldn't leave her and would endure the battle. I don't see any other way to do it unless your DH or another adult is with you. I use to live in an upstairs rental in Queens before we bought so i am picturing my old apt. from your description and I feel for you - I only did it when my older son was a baby and it was hard with all the gear so I can only imagine that it is stressful with 2. If it makes you feel any better, she will eventually get it and give you less of a hassle.

Sometimes I do one at a time if one is sleeping. Otherwise Roman 2.5 walks and I will sometimes let Clover walk (13 months)if it is lite out. I always park in the driveway. I know what you mean about screaming kids on top of carrying all sorts of crap.
I would park in the driveway and move it later if possible.
