I need an allergist recommendation
We found out about DS's allergies when he was 6 weeks old. First it was dairy & soy, then eggs at about 2.5 to 3 months. Now at almost 7 months he seems to have developed MORE freaking allergies! We discovered an almond allergy a month ago, and now out of nowhere he's allergic to either peanuts, coconuts, or corn!!!  I am ready to cry, and will not give up on BFing because of this. I am bringing him to a new GI when I get back from Florida, but I would also like to bring him to an allergist. I have not liked any of the specialists my ped recommends, so I'm asking for recs on here. I'm in Eastern Nassau. TIA!!!

If you are willing to drive to Smithtown, we see an allergist who specializes in pediatric allergies and immunology. Dr Daniel Mayer in Smithtown. Hes wonderful. 631-366-5252

Thanks Eileen, I really appreciate the hugs. Ugh, this is so hard. It breaks my heart that he's going through this  The thought of him having to carry around an epi-pen then rest of his life makes me want to cry.
Thank you to everyone for the quick responses!!! All of the doctors that you recommended are covered on my plan so I will call all of them and go to whichever has the first available appointment.

My husband sees Dr Weiss and swears by him. He has seen him working with kids and said he is great.

One of my favorite things is that so far they have been runnign ON TIME for all of DS's appointments - I hate waiting forever at the drs office

I used to work for Dr. Mayer. He is a terrific doctor. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Gherardi in Plainview is excellent...but I've only seen him as an adult. There are always tons of kids there and he's very sweet.
