I NEED HELP/ADVICE WITH A JOB DECISION

As of now i am working full time and i am lucky that DH takes care of DD> well... DH job is seasonal and its starting Jan-May he really wont be around. I get the feeling that he wants me to quit and stay home and i have thought about it BUT ive had a career all these yrs and now im going to feel unproductive if i dont work somehow. Luckily DD is a VERY easy child to take care of and often when im home i find that i become lazy and i take naps when she naps and i dont get as much done as when i actually work. so i dont like the person i become when i stay home. Eventually DH and i want another child and i know things will be MUCH different then bc there will be 2 and i prob wont feel this way at all...

With that said.. i was thinking of getting a part time job in the mornings from 8-12. then i have the best of both worlds. BUT what job could i do? im a teacher so im trying to think of what i could do...any thoughts? thanks if u read this far

What would happen in May when his job was over? Would you have to go back to work full time?

if that was the case- then I would just keep my job- having to look for a job isn't all the easy- and having you both out of work doesn't sound so fun

With that said...how about something in a retail store. Or a gym or something.

His job is season but gets paid all yr around which is gr8. No if i take a leave it might be for good OR until my 4 yrs is up

then what about working in a pre-school

(discount for the future and still teaching)

Retail is going to want you to work weekends

or maybe part-time office work??

I agree with the preschool idea. maybe a school that has daycare also, so that your child is nearby.

a job just to get out of the house. I worked in babysitting at a gym, it got me out, the kids had fun (took them with me) plus a free gym membership. it was a few hours a week but was fun while it lasted.

you can definitely still find something to take the baby with you, or have the baby nearby.

- daycare
- school aid/assistant
- summer camp
- tutor

Since you're a teacher and only want to work mornings, I agree that a nursery school might work for you. Otherwise, maybe you could work PT in some kind of office doing proofreading or something.

looks like i may be going the nursery school route.. i hope i can find a job at his point of th yr
