I need help with a medical issue.....

I have been having a few problems lately and I have no idea what is wrong with me.
First, I tend to get a lot sharp pains or a lot of pressure in my chest when I am trying to go to bed. I work overnights, so most of the pain is in the morning after a shift. It gets worse with the less sleep I get. I went to the doctor and had a EKG test, and nothing is wrong.

Second, today as many days I have a strange feeling in my throat, It almost feels like someone is holding my throat and squeezing. I can swallow and breath fine. This pain didn't happen until I laid done to go to sleep this morning.

Third, I have been having a lot of trouble with my stomach and intestines. A lot of pain at times, when I eat certain foods.
I went to the doctor for this as well, and they found nothing, but they didn't do a blood test at all.

I have always had problems with my stomach and I have had and ulcer before. The throat and chest pains are new though. Could it possibly be Gerd or something to do with that? Anyone have anything similar to this? I am desperate!!! ALso, many of these problems have been happening since working overnights.

It sounds a lot like GERD to me.
Considering you had an EKG and they ruled out anything with your heart- the GERD might just well be what is causing it.
Did you see a Gastro Doctor for the stomach pains or just a general MD?
You should definitely see a specialist if you haven't already.
Maybe they will be able to pinpoint it better.

Thanks, I am going to make a appointment with a specialist. I only saw my general MD.

Does anyone know of anything I can take to stop the irritation in my throat. I need some sleep.

you may want to try one of the over the counter meds like Prevacid or Pepsid or Prilosec..I forget which ones are OTC and whic ones are script, but it may give you some relief if it's GERD or acid reflux.

This could also be anxiety. lots of your symptoms sound like it. As far as heartburn-try drinking milk about 1/2 hr before you go to bed. Don't eat anything 2 hrs before bed. Buy Ranitidine(generis over teh counter version of zabtac-much cheaper and the same exact thing.) See the specialist-they may deo an endoscopy. GL

I am no doctor but it sounds like reflux. When I am eating something spicy I take a pepcid chewable, and some Mylanta a few hours later , usually before bed. I also sleep with enough pillows to keep my head elevated a little higher then my shoulders.
You should see a specialist. HTH Feel better!

This was me over the summer ... try seeing an ENT - I was diagnosed with LPR - Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR)

Try to get tested for GERD and also for your Thyroid. Alot of the symptoms are similar.

I had some very similar symptoms & went through 3 years of testing. I went on a detox diet for about 4 months & have been feeling great!
