I need help writing a quick letter/email
Okay, a job JUST opened up today in my daughter's school....third grade, from Feb 27th until the end of the year. The great part is that the teacher is not coming back, so this would be a tenure track position!! Rare! And I have taught 3rd grade before.
I volunteer in the school all.the.freaking.time. The principal loves me, because I am running the school publishing center which is very near and dear to her heart. However I am not sure if she really knows my name, AND she doesn't know that I am a teacher. (I've been off for 3 years raising my kids but am looking to go back to work ASAP)
I want to hand deliver my resume but I can't since my littlest daughter is ill and we are driving to NY tomorrow morning...
The whole application process is online, so I sent my cover letter and resume already. But I was thinking about emailing her right now, sending my resume as an attachment (they usually go to the district office first) and somehow letting her know that "Melissa lastname" is ME, the woman she already knows and talks to often. I feel like if she is looking at resumes all day long, at least she can put a face with a name, ya know? That might make a difference...
So, I have NO clue how to word this email. Any takers? THANK YOU!

Keep it professional, almost like an abridged version of your cover letter, but make it clear who you are and what you've done. Attach your resume and cover letter to the email, even though you already applied through the online application.
Good luck!!!
