i need help..not sure why my dd isnt eating

she is 4months old and looks healthy..but the past week she has just been playing with her bottle..biting on the nipple on the side of her mouth.and smiling..when i put the bottle in her mouth like 5 minutes later,she screams..the dr said she may be constipated..which may make her full.so i gave her an infant thingy in her butt..(cant spell it ) and her poop was so hard..so i thought that was it..she ate good the rest of the day and today..but her last bottle today she doesnt really want anything to do with it...she was eating 28oz a day for like 2 weeks..and now i feel like its only 20. should i be worried? i have a 4 month check up on monday..should i just write down what she eats and report it to the dr? i dont want to call them again..especially since she looks fine..but what can be causing her to not be interested in her bottle anymore? thanks for any help

DEFINITELY sounds like constipation. Ava was doing the same exact thing until we started her on sweet potatoes. They keep her nice and regular now. Have you tried some water? THat helps with constipation, too.

no i havent tried water yet...my dr. did mention a while ago to give her sugar water..could she really be that backed up? she pooped today..but how many times a day should these kids poop? she only goes once a day..is that normal? oh god i HATE being a first time mom sometimes..i dont know what is normal and what isnt..thanks

If her poop was hard the other day when you "did what you had to do", then she's constipated and probably still is. It was happening to Ava regularly. I wouldn't even put sugar in the water. Even a half ounce can help them. Even try watering down the formula or, what we did was give her very watered down pear juice. All things helped.

thanks...actually alexandra has been constipated since she was 4 weeks..i gave her prune juice for a while then recently i stopped..and the dr. kind of yelled at me..i thought it was bad to keep giving her prune juice..but apparently not...whatever with this detective work ..ill be a pro by the time i have my next kid

I like pear juice better because it's a little less harsh and doesn't make Ava go as violently Good luck my dear! You're doing great!
