I need Poopie help! (TMI! and very long)
So, DD is 1 year and 3 weeks old. When she was about 3 months, she was having trouble pooping- so we tried a few different formulas, and ended up on alimentum. We never have poopie troubles after that.
So, about a month ago, we transitioned over to milk. We took it very slow- but eventually got all the way to 100% milk without a hitch.
So, we've been on 100% milk since Labor day. Up until maybe a week ago, all has been great. Now- she has had rock hard, pebble type BM's for at least the first and second BM of the day. Then, its pretty much normal- but sometimes has a smushy, sticky consistancy.
Other than that, she has no other signs of milk intolerance. She drinks the milk like a champ, never has a belly ache, never throw up, doesn't have blood or mucous in her stools- so I'm not sure if its a milk thing.
Has anyone had this experience? I'm going to call the doctor tomorrow, but I just wanted to see if anyone elses DC had this problem
TIA!

I actually don't think it is an intolerance, around the same time the same thing happened to Christopher. He was having milk, cheese and yogurt and it would happen.
I don't think it has happened in months, and it never really bothered him.

I think it's just constipation and not necessarily milk intolerance. I'd talk with the dr to see.

Is Kaitlyn also eating any new foods? I don't think it sounds like a milk intolerance. Thomas' poop texture/color changes at each poop. Sometimes very hard, sometimes total mush.
I don't think anything is wrong, but I'd call ped just to run it by them.

She just needs a little help, that all: when this happens to my daughter I double up her fruit and water intake. Apple juice with water in vast quantities is a great poop producer!

I think it's probably a transition, her body may still be adjusting. Give the doc a call to put your mind at ease and to make sure all is okay!
