I need sleep!! Please help me with my 4 month old sleep routine...
He doesn't sleep through the night. He was sleeping 7-8 hours straight for about 2 Weeks and then it was over. Then he started skipping the 2am feeding, which was fine. The past few days have been horrible. He goes to sleep around 10 or 11pm. Then he wakes up at 1:30,4,6,9. He is so tired in the morning. Sometimes he will eat and go back to sleep until 12pm. He is still in our room. He has acid reflux and I was scared to have him out of our room since he used to choke. He is much better now. Do they sleep better in their own room? Anyone have any suggestions. Also, he is a great weight (almost 15lbs). He is BF, but also gets formula.
Help!!

Re: I need sleep!! Please help me with my 4 month old sleep routine...
Sadie started sleeping SO much better and through the night once she was out of our room.
She has been going to bed by 730/8 and sleeping through since about 12 weeks (at 9 weeks she was doing 9-4)
I would try and put him to bed earlier and in his own crib (start a routine) and see if that makes a difference.

Do you just put her in her crib awake at a certain time?

I agree. Definitely try to get him to go to bed earlier too. 11 seems a bit too late to me.
What are his naps like? I know for my son, the better he napped during the day- the better he was at night. Also do you feed him each time he gets up at night or no?

He is pretty good with naps. He takes two 1 1/2 hr naps at 12pm and 5pm. He also takes little cat naps here and there. I do feed him every time he wakes up. I try to let him CIO, but he will go on and on and eventually be wide awake. He used to go to bed at around 9-9:30. I don't know what happend. He won't go to sleep earlier. I'm going to have to start just putting him down and CIO. I was always worried to do this because of his acid reflux.

Are you swaddling him?
My 3m old started waking up because he'd start waving his arms/legs around in his sleep. I started swaddling him and he's been sleeping a lot better.

Granted every baby is different, but at 4 months my son was taking 3, sometimes 4 naps a day (depending on the length of them). He could never go longer than an hour and 15 minutes (hour and a half max) in between naps at that age.
what time does he wake in the morning for the day? Again, every child is different but he sounds like he's probably overtired.

Re: I need sleep!! Please help me with my 4 month old sleep routine...
We were going through the EXACT SAME THING
Alexa also has SEVERE acid reflux and was sleeping in our room because I was also afraid of her choking but she is going much better.
She was waking SO much during the night and not napping AT ALL during the day that she was SEVERELY overtired it was starting to affect her eating and emotionally. I was also soooooo sleep deprived that I couldn't leave the house because I wasn't alert/awake enough to drive
After a LONG talk with DH and our ped we decided to do a modify CIO.... it was not good for Alexa developmentally to not sleep....
WE are on night 3 and OH MY GOD WHAT A DIFFERENCE...........
SHe has been in bed since 6:30 pm. I expect her to get up to nurse around 3-4 am and then she will sleep until 9:30 am.
SHe is also taking 2-3 45min-1 hour naps a day..
SHe is a MUCH happier baby now!!!!!
Its SO HARD to do the CIO but it was really in her best interest and mine and each day gets better and better.
Let me know if you want I can FM you her sleep log so you can see how I did it and how often she woke etc just for an example!
ETA: We also moved her into her room and crib through all of this. The ped thinks she is a light sleeper and DH and I both snore so we were probably waking her up

That sounds really late. I agree with the others, try for an earlier bedtime. I also agree with Blissful, but some people are reluctant to CIO. Good luck!

Help!!
I think you're putting your baby to slepp WAYYYY too late. He must be exhausted from not getting enough sleep. I would most definetly put him to bed a lot earlier. Between 6 and 8pm I just picked up a wonderful book "Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child" it has taught me a lot so far. You should def pick it up!!!! Also the fact he's still sleeping in your room is making you not get emough sleep but hiom as well. After I switched DS from the bassinet to his crib we both slept SO much better. I would def. invest in a video monitor to ease your fears, I love mine and I feel so relieved when I can check on my baby when he's in his room.

Try doing the lat night feeding in a dark room with white noise in the background -- that works for DD. I am going to try putting her in her crib next week, but I am going to start with naps first. I am very anxious about it too! Good luck!

I'm going to buy the book today. I already have a video monitor, I couldn't live without it. I worry so much about him at night. Even if he doesn't wake up, I wake up out of a dead sleep to make sure he is breathing. I will try to put him in bed earlier.
