awwwwwwwww im so sorry..arent people so annoying when it comes to raising your own child..my inlaws do the same thing..and yes they do like routine...why dont they understand that??

Everyone in my family has a hard time believing that when we put Ava to bed, we do not rock her, we just put her down, kiss her goodnight and off to sleep she is. FINALLY my father said to me today, "Well, I can really see that whatever you're doing is working because everytime I'm at your house, she goes right to bed! It's unbelieveable!"
Well, it's NOT unbelieveable. It's reality. She just doesn't like to be snuggled. Not during the day and certainly not at night. Why is it so hard to comprehend?
awwwwwwww ya know aly is the same way..doesnt want to be snuggled EVER..she loves to just go to sleep on her own..sometimes plays in her crib too before she falls asleep..not lately due to teething but..i think grandparents get so nervous..if they even hear their grandchildren make a peep they think they need to be picked up..i totally understand how you feel..god like its not hard enough on your own to figure out your own child..people step in and question it!!!

for the original frustration...
but from your reply, I TOTALLY know how you feel. Aly is out of her snuggling phase now (boo hoo) and we play on our bed and read certain night-night books. Then we take her into her room, give her a binky, she puts her head on my shoulder for a quick snuggle and leans into her crib to go to sleep.
The way we were raised is so different and some people just don't get that each and every baby is different.
YOU, as a paernt, need to do what's best for your child and that's it. I used to get so much slack for not going out with her because she was a 2 hr awake time baby and then bedtime was 6:30 for awhile.....What do I care? She's sleeping through the night and HAPPY.
