I read an article in yesterdays newsday re: countertops...
and in the article it said that granite starts at about $30.00 per sf installed and laminate starts about $15.00 per sf.
Here is my question, I have been shopping around everywhere and have never seen prices like this, have you and if so where?

The best I saw was $45/square foot for granite from granite industries but I wasn't crazy about them. They charge $35/square foot if you install it yourself.

It does depend but I am using this company www.marble.com located in NJ ( I live in NJ) and they start at $37 a square foot. They have over a 1000 different kinds of granite.
I was quoted half of what I was quoted at Home depot and Home Depot has very small selection.
