I really hate people sometimes - Long vent

Andy's chin and cheeks are really raw and chapped looking. I'll try to get a pic, but it's much worse than I'm sure you are imagining. It's from a combination of the weather, teething, excema and I think food allergies beyond the milk protein thing but that's not been proven yet.

We've tried a lot of things, and the only thing that really works is a steriodal creme, which neither I nor my doctor want him on long term for a variety of reasons. It doesn't hurt or bother him, he doesn't cry or touch it, it just looks really ugly. So we have decided to keep up with OTC lotion and hope he outgrows it by one, otherwise we'll have to see a pediatirc dermatologist to figure out a more aggressive plan of action which will most likely involve steriods.

Twice this week in stores people have yelled when they saw him. Earlier this week one woman yells "What happened to him?" and I panic thinking he's bashed himself in the head with something and bleeding profusely. The second time was just before at Walmart in the fabric area. Some lady turns around and says really loud "Wow, you need barium!" First of all, barium? What is this Little House on the Prarie? Should I pull out my jar of leeches too? Then when I explained what it was, she goes on to tell me to stop using paper towels, tissues would be softer. I wanted to say "Oh, we shouldn't use sandpaper to clean him up after meals?"

Why can't people just keep to themselves?

i get remarks like this for other stuff from the older moms, or moms who have been moms longer than me. i would just nod and say thanks, and roll my eyes as i walk away.

People can't mind their own f'in business! I'm sorry people can't keep their mouths shut! I have NEVER in my life made a remark about another child ESPECIALLY one that I don't know!

I'm sure you want to punch them in the face, but try not to let it get to you. My husband always says 70% of people walking around out there are complete idiots! (even if they "mean well")

People really do suck and whenever anyone has something to say to me, I don't let them off easy and neither should you

have you tried Cetaphil? that's what my ped recommends!!

Thanks everyone. It's just so annoying, I'd never point out something wrong with a stranger's physical appearance.

People are moronic.

My boys get the redness on thier face too, and it clears up and comes back all the time, people act like I rub thier cheeks raw. Aquaphor seems to help mine if we do it overnight, but I am sure it is not as bad as you are saying.

MY friend told me that when someone makes a comment, I should say to them....THAT YO' BABY? NO THAT MY BABY! I pay no attention to people like that, they are just stupid!!!

Trust me, I know! I have had horrible exzema my entire life, as well as psoriasis. It wasn't pretty, and I am also dealing with it again because Lauren inherited my skin. Anyway, I grew up my entire life having to "explain" to people what was wrong. It's beyind annoying. I get it now to with lauren because of her cheeks. I just tell people she's fine, she's got mommy's skin. They never know what to say after that!
