I sent this email to Rep. King and Rep Israel
I'm in the 2nd district.
You can go to the website for the House of Representatives and find your rep and send an email.
I can't remember a time when I have been more disillusioned with my government. I feel Congress has let us down. Today was the final straw. I am a homeowner and a taxpayer and have the good fortune to be employed and paying my bills but some don't have a home or a job.
Some of those people are homeless and jobless due to Hurricane Sandy. I've read today that the bill that didn't get voted on was full of additional spending that had nothing to do with the Hurricane which is just a disgrace. It should be a crime. I understand it would have taken significant time to restructure the bill but as an employee of my company when there is a need, we stay and complete our work. I would not have a job if I had the work ethic of some in Congress. I truly believe they are out only for themselves.
I know you share my frustration when I say there is work to do and it needed to get done asap. There are no days off when something of this magnitude needs attention. Many have donated their time and money to the relief efforts and Congress adjourns? Congress leaves these people high and dry? Are they living on another planet? Are they really that clueless? Insurance? FEMA? Is that their plan when neither is providing the assistance that is needed? Money is not getting to the people who need it. Red Cross, United Way, Robinhood Foundation donations have not gotten through!
Please do all you can along to get this done asap. I'm lucky that my home was not affected but some still don't have heat and cannot afford to fix their homes. Some are still living in hotels, with family..even in shelters.
Congress has no heart. I'm afraid they've lost their humanity.

Bohner is a disgrace to the position he holds. He and the Republican House leadership have become an obstructionist obstacle to America. I no longer trust them to have the best interest of the country at heart. By leaving the floor without giving an answer to their colleagues (on the same party line) and refusing to take 4 phone calls from a Governor shows their true colors. They are more than willing to take a salary and benefits but not do the job they were hired to do. A real leader would not shirk his responsibilities. With all of the above said, I understand why they don't want to kick the can down the road, but they let themselves get into this position so I cannot feel sorry for them at all. The time to act has past and they failed.

LOL. Good for you. My fear with that is by using those words it would get you on a watch list for "threatening" him.

I completely agree. What is happening on Capital Hill is a disgrace and Bohner (and his entire state of OH) should be ashamed of himself.
Remember things like this come election time, WE THE PEOPLE CAN have a say when we vote for our local officials.
I will send this letter too!

Can you believe that Boehner may actually win re-election for SOTH?
Boehner favored for re-election
The vote is going on right now.

Sounds like he is unopposed, so I guess its between him and an empty chair. However, the empty chair would probably be more productive.

sad but true.
and you know, the more i think about it, the more it pisses me off. chris christie and peter king had a lot to say about bohner yet neither are stepping up to take on the roll.
if you're not happy with what is happening, do something about it. they seem to be talking a lot but there isn't much action from them either.
