I slipped and fell on my way home tonight...
My heel got caught in my pant cuff and off I went into the street in front of my house. I instinctively put my hands in front and fell on my left knee and banged the sh!t out of it. Thankfully my belly never touched the ground (but my knee took that hit pretty hard). I'm just staying off of my feet for the rest of the night and will call the dr. if I get any pain of any kind in my belly.
DH wants to throw all of my shoes away and have me in sneakers for the rest of this pregnancy. I don't think so, but I'll be more careful getting out of the car next time.

Oh No!! I'm glad to hear you didn't land on your belly. I hope your knee is not hurt too badly.
If you don't want to wear sneakers, maybe you should consider some dressy flats.

I am so glad you are OK (wel, besides the knee). It is so slippery out there I almost slipped a few times myself today. Be careful!

I hope you are okay... I traded in my heals for flatter shoes at about the 13th week b/c I'm a clutz. I plan on living in my low heal boots and snow boots all winter and then I'll buy a pair of flats for April and part of May until the baby's born. I'm done with style... baby's safety trumps fashion! The shoes in style these days are definitely not for pregnant women.

I have had one scare like that, but I didn't fall. Isn't crazy how fast it happens?

Be really careful. I have such a fear of falling. And sneakers are not a good idea with the ice. I got a pair of lands end shoes with lots of traction. take it slow. Your placenta can get jolted and detatch.

Please please please be careful! I know what you mean about slipping... I can't wear shoes/sneakers anymore at work cuz I get swollen....
I wear flip flops, and every time I walk (especially after they mop) the guys are all freaking out basically keeping me from doing what I have to do or trying to help me finish my tasks cuz they are so afraid that I'm going to fall....
My employees are wonderful......

Take it easy and be careful. It might not be a bad idea to wear sneaker outside of work. Honestly with weather like this that is what I do. I wear sneakers to work and change my shoes in my classroom and put them back on when I am heading back out to the parking lot. Black ice is bad

Thanks you guys. My knee is black and blue, but other than that, I'm ok.
It wasn't like I was wearing high heels, more like 1.5 inch boots. But to hear my DH tell it, I was in 5 inch F ME pumps.
I have a dr's appt today and will mention it to her.

That's so scary! I don't think it matters what kind of shoes you wear - it's really slippery out there right now.
I was nervous this morning going out to my car (and scraping the windshield  ) - my driveway is like a sheet of ice.

I live in Chicago and have been wearing my snow boots everywhere to be careful. I put on my heels when I get to the office and only wear them indoors these days.
