I started crying at Peter Pan
I took Alex to see a theatre production of Peter Pan in Philly - a small theatre, and filled to the brim with kids, and it was seriously one of the best shows I've ever seen. No bells and whistles, not even a flying Peter Pan, but very creative and imaginative, and the cast was just amazing. Alex was simply mesmerized.
So, anyway, they get to this part of the play where Captain Hook snuck some poison into Peter Pan's medicine that Wendy insisted he take after she leave. Tinker bell is trying to convince him that Captain Hook "tainted" the medicine but he won't believe her, so she swoops it out of his hand, and drinks it, so save him.
She is lying on the floor, almost dead... so Peter Pan says to the audience, the only way we can save Tinker Bell is if she knows that children still believe in her and in fairies. If you believe, shout it at the top of your lungs and clap your hands!
OMG, seriously... Alex was so upset for tinkerbell that she started SCREAMING "I believe, I BELIEVE" clapping her hands, with the rest of the audience of children screaming "I believe" while clapping their hands. There was just something so special... so innocent... in all of it.
Does it mean I'm still post-partum hormonal because I started crying??

that's so sweet I'm not sure if it's hormones, but I will say my youngest is 20 months and I still get all teary eyed when I see their innocence show.

Re: I started crying at Peter Pan
I cry at just about every show or school event I've attended.
You name it...Sesame Street Live, Disney on Ice, Sesame Place shows, Katherine's Christmas pageant, and of course...Disney World. Katherine's pre-k teacher sends a letter home each week describing what they're doing, etc. The letter right before Christmas break she wrote, "This is such a magical time in your child's life and it will be gone before you know it. Don't worry about cooking, cleaning, etc. etc. etc." I was in a puddle of tears even at that!!
And I'm heading on ummmm...3 years post partum! Seeing things through a child's eyes is so truly magical, how can you not cry?!!

It was so embarassing because, at the end, the cast was waiting outside so the children could meet them.
Alex was absolutely dumbfounded - Peter Pan and Wendy kneeled down on her level and talked to her, asking what her favorite part was, and Wendy gave her a big hug and when she stood up to tell me she hoped I enjoyed the show, I tried to hide my face as I was wiping the tears way

Re: I started crying at Peter Pan
Yesterday when we were driving home from LI, Logan was watching the Incredible Journey.
When the dogs and cat finally found their way home and reunited with the kids, Logan started clapping and cheering.
I totally teared up.
I think it's just so exciting to see them "get stuff" and get excited.

Man do I wish believing really could save someone. I would have been crying too - in fact I'm tearing up in my office now at the thought.
