I think DH traumatized Alex
Ok, so one last, funny, but kind of sad, Alex story.
Every night I read to her the hungry catepillar and goodnight moon. So, you all know I was soooo sick last week, and wanted to avoid passing it off to her, so DH took over the bedtime story routine.
So, this week, I've been trying to read to her the hungry catepillar and she gets SOOOOOOOO upset when we get to the part where the catepillar has a stomachache from eating too much. She keeps pointing to the sad little catepillar, crying "boooo boooo". And, seriously, she gets soooo upset, she just keeps saying it over and over again. She won't let me finish the story, won't even let me turn the page.
I asked DH about it, and apparently when he was reading her the bedtime story, instead of saying the catepillar had a "stomachache", he said the catepillar had a boo boo in its stomach.
So, now I can't read her favorite story to her!
Any tips to "de-traumatize" her?

Awww that is so cute! Poor baby, she's traumatized! When my DD has a booboo, I have started kissing it and it really makes her feel better. If you have done that before, could you try asking her to kiss the caterpillar's tummy to make him feel better? Or just hold off for a few days, although I doubt at her age she'll just forget so easily. Good luck!

Make up a little story towards the end how the "boo boo" was fixed after the hungry caterpillar finally had some food in his stomach...and how important it is to eat etc etc...I don't know, its worth the try...

That's a good idea actually. We always kiss her booboo when she falls and she always stops crying then. I'll try it tonight!

Yup! I got one. Lets get Noah round to your house one night because his idea of reading a book is ripping the pages out. So he can stick his fingers through the holes in the book and rip the pages out! Voila, no sad ending! No Tummyache! What do you think?

Sorry Rach, per DH's instructions, NO boys allowed in our house until Alex is 30!
