I think I hit my breaking point
I have been so sad and depressed these last few days. I am 8 dpo and I really don't think this is our month. We have been ttc for 6 months now and nothing. I never thought in a million years it would take this long or be so dificult. I think we have done all we can posibly do. I am the type of person that when I want something I go out and get it and I am a control freak. The fact that this is nothing I can do anything about probably doesn't help. I feel like a failure as a woman. DH is great and he tries to comfort me, but this is just something that they cannot relate to. He tells me when it is our time it will be and we are doing all we can. I know that is a truth but that is not what I want to hear. I am going to call my dr tomorrow and make an appt to see what is going on with us. I have to snap out of this funk because I know it is not healthy, but it is going to be hard. Thanks for listening. I know you girls know where I am coming from.

Re: I think I hit my breaking point
I know where you are coming from. We got a BFN this morning so we are going to be going into our 7th month. Just try to be positive it will happen

Re: I think I hit my breaking point
First off Joe and I are going to be starting our 13th month of TTC so I feel your pain. My NP is setting us up w/a fertility doc since I now have some underlying medical issues. How old are you? Most people like you to wait about a year of on your own if you're under 35. I feel how frustrated you ar and I wish I had a magic answer, but I don't. All I can say is take it 1 day at a time, try to remain calm and enjoy what you have NOW! It's hard to do, but I try to remember this everyday

Re: I think I hit my breaking point
I know how frustrated you must feel. I think it's a good idea to ask your doctor and see what he/she says. However, a lot is based on your age. If you are under 35, doctors don't typically move forward with any testing at 6 months ttc. Mine said that up to one year is completely normal at my age. If you are over 35, they may suggest some testing now.
I got my bfp on my 13th cycle of really trying. We had recently started with an RE at that point, but it happened without any kind of treatment. Try to have faith that it will happen, and be open to what your doctor suggests.

Re: I think I hit my breaking point
I'm so sorry. I feel like I have written that exact post before so I really know how you feel.
If I remember correctly, you're over 35 right? I'd definitely make an appointment with an RE and get started on some simple, fairly noninvasive testing first... and then go from there!
You can always FM me if you need/want to talk!

Re: I think I hit my breaking point
I felt like that when I started TTC with my first pregnancy. It's very hard when you are a control freak and you have this thing that is totally out of your control. Now when I look at my son I am so happy I didn't get pregnant those first few months because then I wouldn't have him! This time around we are on month #4 and still nothing, but I just try to remember that eventually it will happen. Try to hang in there - you will get a BFP someday and you will appreciate so much more than if it had come easily to you. I know so many of my friends get pregnant on the first or second shot with no problem but some of us aren't built like that and it doesn't make us any bit less of a woman!!!! If it makes you feel better you should definitely speak to a doctor. I know that if I don't get pregnant in the next few months I will see mine!

I'm sorry....I do know how u feel (just like many others on here). If u r 35, check with your insurance to see which RE's take your insurance. The RE will give you all kinds of options and run all kinds of tests.
I know this is a frustrating process!

Re: I think I hit my breaking point
I have also been TTC for 6 months with no luck. Some months are harder then others. Just dont give up!! We will one day move over to the pregnancy board. This is one thing that we cant control and yes it sucks. But when we get that BFP it will all be worth it!!

Re: I think I hit my breaking point
Thank you so much ladies! I knew I could lean on you for support. I am over 35, so based on my age I am at the mark when a dr could be consulted. I broke down earlier today to DH and we talked it out and I am feeling much better. I am going to keep my chin up and enjoy the blessings in my life that I do have. And that BFP day will come for all of us and it will just add to our lives. Who knows, maybe my breakdown was due to pregnancy hormones Thank you again for all your kind words and support and to you all!!!!

Re: I think I hit my breaking point
Try not to worry just yet. It's really hard because as we get older it does just take a lot of us a little longer than if we were 25 and trying to get pregnant.
I would definitely consult a doctor just to get the testing done, that way you know sooner rather than later if there is a problem, but I am sure you have nothing to worry about.
Don't worry, it will happen!!!!!!

Re: I think I hit my breaking point
MANY MANY HUGS!!!
We are finally undergoing fertility treatments to conceive #2 and the absolute HARDEST thing for us to come to terms with was that we got preg with DS (#1) on our own, by accident, unplanned and now despite our efforts we are not able to conceive #2 on our own...
It will happen for you... I am always so DELIGHTED by the + HPT's and can't wait until it is our turn once again!
GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!
