I think I just lost 10 years off my life
wake up, take a shower, go in miki's room to wake her up...NO MIKI...no blanket
check in my bed, no miki, check in the living room, no miki
I can almost feel the panic take over my body. I call her name, no response, getting more and more panic-y
wake up DH tell him that I cannot find miki, he springs out of bed and starts calling for her and then he sees a pink blanket under the bed (her bed)
yup, she was sleeping under her bed
  it is too early for a double

I seriously am traumatized from this. I am honestly thinking of getting an alarm system....I just immediately thought she was gone  it makes me cry just thinking about it

OMG that's just terrifying
This happened to my sister when my one niece was 4, and the other was 1. My 4 year old (at the time) niece Taylor was being a real PITA - my sister was all stressed getting the house ready for a surprise party. She gets off the phone, and she can't find my niece ANYWHERE. She's flipping out, losing her mind, even called 911. They asked her all these questions - did you check under the beds, closets etc....
Well she didn't check one more place...my OTHER niece's crib. Guess who was in there, sleeping away with her SISTER's binky in her mouth? Yup, my niece! My niece hadn't used a binky since she was like 9 months old too.  My sister even went in that room, screaming Taylor's name and it didn't even wake her.
So funny cuz we were actually talking about that story last night and hadn't talked about it in years!!

me either, I would not ever think she would've been under there, since there are "poccadiles" under there (that is the way she pronounces Crocodiles)

Steph-I have to tell you, since we got our alarm system I feel so much better not just about security but also about the kids safety.
When I read that story about the little girl who unlocked the deadbolt on the front door and walked out of the house in nothing but her diaper and wandered over a mile away-I kept thinking, "what can I do to prevent this?". Now that we have the alarm system, if either Claire or Owen ever did that, the alarm system would go nuts. It has definitely given me a little peace of mind.
It actually was less than I thought-you have a lot of options. If you want the name of our guy, let me know
