I think I just saw my (family) dog for the last time ever
I was in NY for the holiday. My Daisy is 17 years old. She is not doing well--she can hardly walk, is losing her fur, and has stopped eating & drinking, even if we make her rice or chicken or steak, or anything.
I came back to RI yesterday, and I think it was the last time I will ever see her again. I am heartbroken. My parents & brothers are a mess also. Daisy is not in any pain that we know of, but at this point, her quality of life is no good.
Nobody wants to make the call to put her down, but we know its what needs to be done. We are praying she goes in her sleep.
She has had an awesome 17 and a half years of life, and it will be very hard for us to be without her. We love her to pieces, and don't remember life without her.

I literally just went thru this with my family's dog...luckily she went quietly in her sleep last night...prayers she goes the same way & many hugs to you!!!

I'm so sorry. I thought I was going to have to do this yesterday and lost it, but turns out it's not time yet. My heart breaks for you though because for a few hours there I was right there with you.
