* spinach and artichoke dip with veggies and pita
* marmalade meatballs
* pico de gallo and tortilla chips

desserts:
* assorted cookies
* hot chocolate on a stick
* kit kat cake
* chocolate pecan pretzels

drinks:
* soda
* grapefruit mimosas
* champagne
* non-alcoholic sangria
* sparkling fruit juice
* wine
* beer

I really like everything except the sloppy joes, otherwise it sounds good!

Your drinks and desserts sound fine.

For the menu, I think you can skip the fondue since you're having spinach artichoke dip and a baked brie.

I think the sloppy joe idea is really cute, but do you think people will make their own sandwiches?
Maybe instead of sloppy joes, keep the meat, but make a dip instead, like a layered taco style dip with meat, lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese, salsa and sour cream. This would also make your pico unnecessary.

Re: i think i need to re-vamp NYE's menu plan

so if i get rid of the sloppy joe, should i replace it with something else that's "warm and filling"?

the reason i included it was to have one item that was more of a "meal", if that makes sense.

would you have to tend to the fondue? if yes, then i'd skip it.. you have a cheese item..

Maybe in place of the cheese fondue, you can do a chili cheese dip with nacho chips.

Then, take the veggies you would have had with the cheese fondue and do a vegetable dip.

How about swedish meatballs? You can buy the frozen ones at stop and shop and keep them heated in the crock pot. Make some brown gravy and that would replace the sloppy joes.

How about a ham, with biscuits/rolls for people to make sandwiches? You can keep it room temp so it would be easy.

I would replace the sloppy joes with pulled pork if you wanted something filling. Serve with potato rolls and coleslaw. Yummy and always a hit. I would also cut the fondue. With all your other apps I don't think its necessary. Everything sounds great!

thanks for the good ideas.

i knew i needed new eyes to look it over.

pulled pork sounds good and not as messy. so does a ham. i'll see what's on sale Chat Icon

the cheese fondue will hit the road, as well.

thanks.

{off to put my shopping list together}

I personally LOVE sloppy joes Chat Icon but I kind of feel like I may be in the minority.

You could make a chili and then have the fixins' like grated cheddar, sour cream, guac--you already have the tortilla and pico de gallo.

Or you could do a hero/cold cut platter.

Everything else sounds yummy!

I would say skip the sloppy joes and make a cold cut platter.

Everything else sounds great though!
