I think I really like my class...
The girls are so cute! They are the kind of girls who are in love with their teacher and love to hug you at a moments notice I love that!

Mine too!! I LOVE almost every girl in my class! The boys will be boys BUT I do have quite a few really really sweet ones!!! OVERALL I'm happy with this class!! And after my last class that I had down south these kids are angels!!

Aww! My 16 year-olds don't do that. Sometimes I think it would be nice to teach littler ones.

I don't want to say I like them until June  (I don't want to jinx myself!) They are definitely a change from last year. (On the first day of school last year I had a girl announce "I don't want to go into this STUPID class!" right before she entered my room. I also had kids talking while I introduced myself and then smirk at me and giggle when I told them to quiet down! ) Last year's group was very "us against the teacher". This year, I have some chatters but they are able to joke with me in a cute way. They seem like a cute bunch! 
Well my lovely class from last year scared the crap out of them telling them how I was sooooo mean

Ditto. And I forget how they are really still kindergartners. But they are soooo cute. I just don't let them know I think that!

Oh, see I love the boys -- they just seem easier to communicate with than the girls (but I teach high school, and maybe that's why). But I do love my classes so far this year -- much more than I thought I could. (I miss last year's a lot, though.)

This is why I loooove the 1st graders. They're meeting me for the first time, so they are just too excited to see me when they run into me in the halls. It's refreshing after having a 5th or 4th grade class who can barely mutter a hello to me (I never understand why social awkwardness happens THAT early!  )...and in walks the 1st, 2nd or 3rd graders who come in with a big smile and hello.
The hugs make you feel good, don't they? Years past I preferred teaching the older grades just because we could do some really fun, complicated stuff. This year, I'm REALLY enjoying the little ones simply because of their enthusiasm.

That's even better then- that they're showing how much they adore you!! That is special! I always loved the 'younger' 'innocent' older kids. They're the best!
