I think my mom is interested in becoming a doula

I was talking to my mom about her experiences with natural childbirth (she went drug free with both me and my bro) and how I hope DH can be a good coach. She told me if I wanted her there (and only if I wanted her there) she would be my coach or be a back up coach.

So we started talking and mom mentioned how she has always wanted to be involved in delivering babies. I told her about what doulas do (I don't know if they were popular in the 70's) and now she is thinking about finding out what is involved in becoming one.

I think she would be an awesome labor coach.

If that's something she would enjoy, then she should definitely look into it.

I have a midwife appt tomorrow and since DH isn't going, mom asked if she could come. I told her yes. I am hoping the midwives can give her some info.

It is kind of funny that my mom and one of our coworkers (I work with mom) are both around the same age and both women want to deliver a baby at some point in their life.

It would be nice to see such nurturing people as my mom and our coworker do something like this.
