I think my supply issue has to do with my pump/shields

I've posted a few times, I'm getting next to nothing pumping - at least at work. I noticed today - if I press the shields to my breasts, my is coming out (I use a hands free bra at work). So, did my boobs shrink or something that suddenly something isn't fitting right?? Has this happened to anyone?

It's never happened to me, but have you tried not going hands-free once and massaging it out during the whole pump session to see what happens? I can only get a lot of milk to come out that way.

Really stupid question, but how do you massage? I find it so awkward.

I started off using more of a bandeau-type one... it was REALLY tight. Have you tried one like that?

Right now I'm using the hands-free one that comes with the Medela Freestyle and I love it. It's super easy to adjust so I will make it tighter if I'm wearing certain nurses tanks vs. certain nursing bras...

I never massage during the pumping... I don't quite get it. If I start to try, I end up breaking the suction (maybe it's because I don't have a large chest to begin with??)

hmm I wonder if its just a little colder at work with the ac blowing, sometimes if I'm even a tad on the cold side I get nothing.

Try warm towel or heat pack on your boobs before you pump, warm them up and massage, just kind of rub gently to get circulation and milk going

Not stupid, and I'm not sure if this is the right way but I hold the shield with one hand and with the other hand press into my chest and squeeze towards the nipple. I guess it's like hand expressing but with the shield on. TMI- but I always have to do this to one side to get a lot of milk...the other side I just let the pump do its thing by itself!

I have the same halter bra you have Jessee... sometimes I do the massage thing too, I just cup my boobs and squeeze and use my thumbs (under the bra) to massage towards the nipple.
