I Think We Finally Got Rid of The Bottle

DS has been drinking juice, tea, etc. from the sippy cup for a few weeks now but not milk. Last night I gave him milk in the sippy cup and he drank it. I think at almost 14 months old I got him completely off the bottle. Now I hope MIL (who watches him during the day) sticks with it.

Did he drink it in place of the bedtime bottle, or was it with dinner and then nothing before bed? I am not sure how to get rid of the bedtime bottle. He wont take a sippy in my lap before bed, he freaks out. I might try water in the bottle...?

His last bottle before bed is milk so instead of putting milk in the bottle I put it in the sippy cup last night. DS actually took to the sippy cup faster than I thought he would.

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I had a hard time with my Mom at first jsut giving him sippy cups. She thought he was too young and still needed his bottle. I had to sit her down and really let her know my feelings on it. Now we are all sippy cupsChat Icon

Re: I Think We Finally Got Rid of The Bottle

Thanks everyone. I started DS with sippy cups at 6 months old and he did not want anything to do with them. When he turned a year I started again and he would take it a little at a time but the last few weeks I have given it to him all the time and now he is great with it.
