I truly HATE people sometimes..VENT!
We went out to eat tonight.
Half way through dinner, one of the owners comes over and starts talking to Megan. Ok fine, people do that all the time and I usually love it. Well then she went on to run her fingers through her hair, I then ran my fingers back through her hair to fix it, trying to give her the hint NOT to touch my childs hair. Then, she proceeds to rub her leg. She was wearing a dress and I just did not like or feel comfortable with that. Who does that to a stranger?????
Then the worst part..I had given Megan a small piece of pita bread to gnaw on. Shes teething big time and she wasnt getting off any pieces. This ******* woman puts her nasty fingers on my daughters bread that she has in her mouth and says..aww you shouldnt be eating that, your going to choke! Well that was it, I was LIVID! I was just about to say something, when my sisters boyfriend apparently was fed up too and said, she has her mother right here, and 3 other people watching her, she is absolutely fine thank you. The lady FINALLy got the hint and walked away. I was so disgusted by the entire encounter. I took the pita away from Megan because the lady put her nasty fingers on it.
First off, I was sitting right there. Secondly, if for some reason she thought I was a young, inexperienced mother (which is how she was treating me) her grandmother (my mom) was right there too! AND choking is my biggest fear, so DONT TELL ME she is going to choke like I am stupid or something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont like strangers touching my child and I dont like people telling me what I should and shouldnt be doing. My own family doesnt treat me that way.
I know this is long but I just HAD TO VENT! OK..I feel a little better now.

That would bother me too. I can understand you being so mad. I dont like people telling me how or what I should be doing and I would be even more ****** that this woman was touching my baby. I hate that. I dont understand why people do it. The only time I touch a baby is if it a family or friends baby and I know it is ok. I would never even want to touch a stranger's baby. People are so odd!

 I can't stand it when people touch Lily too. I just don't get that. It would never ever occur to me to touch a baby I didn't know. When people try to touch Lily's hands she pulls them away. It's so funny. I really hate it when they try to touch her face.

I hate when strangers touch DD too...but it happens ALL the time. I have learned to just try to blow it off and not ruin my day

Touching the baby is annoying, but it doesn't bother me too much. I would have been pi$$ed about her grabbing food from DC and making the choking comment. I definitely would have said something, I'm glad your BIL put her in her place.

Oh god how I hate it when people tell me what to do with my child. I hate it when my IL's do it so it would bother me even more if a stranger told me what to do with my child.
As for the touching that would have ****** me off too. I mean maybe if they touched a hand or something it would be no big deal. But her running her fingers through Megan's hair, rubbing her leg and then touching the bread that was in her mouth would have made me livid too. I would have walked out...

people should just know that touching other ppl's baby is not kosher. unless it's okay with the parents, of course. who knows where your hands has been.

That was really rude of her to do that with the pita. You should have said: "are you going to give her another one now that you put your bare hands all over that one?" Freakin people.
As far as touching her. I have a habit of touching other people's kids.  It really doesn't bother me. I sometimes touch their hair or their arm. As a term of endearment. I certainly wouldn't get that personal with a stranger's kid by rubbing their leg, but maybe a swipe through the hair.
I guess I'm just weird.

I get nuts when people touch DD hands. They are constantly in her mouth. I asked a child very politely to not get so close to the baby the other day and her mother got all pissy and called her away and told her to stay away from that rude lady

I would be very mad if someone touched my child's food. As for the touching, I think she was just being affectionate. Im very touchy sometimes. Some people just love everything about babies.

sometimes I think its cultural to do certain things to babies. This weekend we went to a Greekfeast and there were more then a few women who grabbed my dd to hold her and I looked at my mom like "get her" . Its not a bad thing for people to want to interact with babies but these days I think its confusing with so much cr@p that you hear.

ughhhhh Leo pimped Josh out at IHOP one time for free pancakes. The manager picked up the baby was hugging him, grabbed his bottle off the table to feed him!
I had never even met her before.
I think some people honestly have no idea. They can't possibly..

I dont like it when people touch Johns face or hands. His legs or hair dont bother me. I always have anti-bacterial wipes on me so if a stranger touches him I wipe him down.

Strangers really ought to NOT touch babies and why they feel it's ok to is beyond me  Most of the time when we are out I wear DD in the Mei Tai and people still try to touch her
