Yeah but Don you are missing the big point. New Years is probably the ONLY holiday celebrated by just about the entire WORLD!
Yeah to a New Yorker.. it may not seem so great. But watching all those New Years celebrations on TV from the eastern countries during the day is pretty cool.
Its a holiday (probably the only one) that all of humanity can share.
I think that makes it pretty special.
