I want to train Char as a REHAB dog:

There is a dog at Kessler with my brother - her name is Lucy and she is a Border Collie. The woman told me that there is a test they have to pass that you can find online but I can't remember the name she said.

I want to look into it for Char -- for eventually when Kenneth is better and I can take her to rehab places/hospitals or nursing homes to help others! I told the woman about Char and she said she would be perfect for it.

She trained her dog to pass the test herself and the dog is certified.

Anyone know more about this?

She might have referred to the AKC's Canine Good Citizen test??? I think that's a "pre-requisite" for a Therapy Dog, but the AKC website would have information about that!

thanks! i'll check that out.

she is PERFECT for it and is trained, already, on both verbal and nonverbal commands. i love her! i want her to be able to help and i'm excited at the opportunity to "give back".
