I wanted to introduce our new fur baby!
After going back and forth for 3 years and deciding what to do, we finally found a dog that was perfect for our family and most importantly our senior cat.
We adopted Benji from a rescue. We are his 3rd owners, poor little guy. He just turned 7 months. We are working really hard on his puppy manners but he already knows a lot of things. Benji and Xena are working hard on liking each other! Xena is not understanding the puppy bark means he wants to play. That hurts her ears and scares her, other than that they have done well together.

I just wanted to drop in and say hi. Benji is keeping us busy but adding much joy to our lives (except the cat's life). I have recently discovered tooth punctures in several pants because Benji likes to nip my butt as I walk away and he wants to play. Other than that he only had 1 accident since he has been home. Destroyed very little and seems to be a generally happy doggie that just wants to play ALL the time. He is definitely a high energy dog. He has gained 10 lbs since he has been with us. The vet is happy because he was under weight. He is now at a perfect weight and progressing nicely. He starts obedience class next month. He knows sit, paw, down and stay but does them a lot for food. I want him to do them with out a food incentive. Come is the one that is biggest to me right now.
Here is Benji getting mad that I keep telling everyone he gained 10 lbs.

Congrats, he is too cute! My mom rescued a dog in April, she was about 18 months then. She went to Obedience class too, they said you have to use treats for a very long time when doing sit, stay etc. She did pretty well with the command training, except for come. The trainer said she is just not going to do it!
