I wanted to post some of Johnnys recent milestones...if no one cares

I am posting some stuff here b/c I was feeling a bit down earlier today...and it always helps to see how far he's come and the progress he is making.

He is now 27 months. If you asked me a few months ago if Johnny would start knowing his ABC's and counting 1-10 I would have said "ummm yeah right, maybe next year". Not b/c I don't think he is smart...but I know he just doesn't connect things in the same way as other kids.

However....He has started counting with us. We say "one" he says "two". Then he'll say "Fee" (for three) and we say four and he says "fi" (for five). He knows eight nine and ten but for some reason doesn't understand seven, lol!

For ABC's he can repeat every letter which is cool, he's been doing that for a while BUT just in the last week he's been spontaneously saying the letter that comes after what we say. Well go "A, B" and he'll go "C D". You get the idea..

It's not always the right letter and he doesn't do it all the time, but this is HUGE for us. It's great to see him do these things, its great to see him respond to requests "Johnny put this in the garbage, put your cup in the sink, get mom a diaper" etc and he does it all.

Last week he started coming up to us and holding his butt and saying "poop". He then leads us into his room, grabs a diaper and lays down to be changed

Heck its not close to potty training BUT the fact he is recognizing that he doesn't like to sit in poop is a start!

SO all in all my little guy is thriving in school and just doing more and more everyday. I remember every day to count my blessings, even when I get really down about the situation (fear of not knowing where his future is going, fear of having a second baby with possible worse issues?). I know that life can be unpredicatable...but like I always say..if he remains the sweet little boy I have always loved I'm ok with it all!

It's awesome how well he's doing and all of the improvements he's made. You should be super proud of him, and of yourself.

Seriously..as many of you on here know, the last year has been very hard on us. Emotionally its just been ups and downs. He's had bad days along with the good...for every 5 days of continued progress we hit a bad day where my heart aches, my stomach turns and I scratch my head wondering "why" certain things are happening.

But I hold onto my faith that all will be ok. I truly cherish every single milestone and I've learned not to take anything for granted.

I just wanted to let you know that Connor who is about the same age is doing the same, maybe a little more than Johnny is. He's doing the poop thing too. He just started that a couple of weeks ago as well. The number and ABC thing he's doing/saying similar things. He's not doing that much more than your little is if at all and he's not behind in anything recently? He actually only started really talking a few months ago. We were worried about that, but then he just started out of no where. I don't think he's behind? Connor is actually really smart and ahead of other 2 yr old's in his class. I don't think Johnny is behind really? School really does help though. Connor actually is doing more advanced things because of Caiden. Caiden didn't do a lot of the things that Connor is doing when he was his age and he's advanced as well. His teachers all say that it's too bad he can't go into Kindergarten now because he's more than ready. He's only one of a few 4 yr olds that can write his own name. Well, at least that's what they say. I hate that he has to wait until next summer/fall to start. A couple of things that Connor does (because his big brother does it) is he tells knock knock jokes now. There's no real point to them, but they're really funny and he gets a kick out of them too. The other thing he's been doing is he started talking sentences a lot now. It was only very recent that this happened. Caiden would call him a baby, Connor would call me, ask me if he's a baby, I say no, he turns to Caiden and tells him, that he's not a baby. Now also, the one thing that Connor isn't too good with, is certain words he can't seem to speak clearly. But there are some words come out perfect. We're just happy that he's speaking up a storm now. Like I said, we were worried at one point. because Caiden was talking sooner than him. But like everyone told me was that everyone is different.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know where Connor was since they're the same age and that other kids in his class are about the same too!

Those are great milestones though! I get all excited too when Connor does or says something new too!
