I was just pumping and
as I went to pull the pump away a little piece of stringy BM pulled away with me...when I touched it..it was gooey and mucusy looking same color as BM... and at the end it was a little bloody..
What the heck is this? This nipple has been very sore for a couple of days...however look as if it is fine... I have noticed same white gunk on the side of my nipple...i just thought it was dried milk...
My milk isnt bloody...now im freaked out!

probably a broken capillary in your breat, it is common, but how mucousy was it?

I would say the same thing. Apparently this is what was happening to me when I was letting Miranda nurse too long and had no idea my milk supply was low. She was breaking cappillaries and then swallowing blood. Apparently broken capillaries are pretty common.

Ok- So since I didnt see this in my milk...(it was on my nipple) then that bottle is fine right?

absolutely, even if the baby injested some of the blood it is ok since you are not Hep B positive or HIV pos, it is just your blood and if anything , you may just see it in his poop! Not a big deal even though I know it must have scared the sh*t outta ya!!!

Do you think I could have an infection.. I know sometimes when you BF that happens...and my nipple has been more sore than the left one...
I mean other than this episode this morning...it looks fine... Its not discolored.. or cut up

I would sat it's fine, I have heard of this often.
just monitor yourself for fever, wrm to the touch breast, etc. You'll feel like crap if you have an infection.

I would call dr. just to be safe. Same thing happened to a friend and her dr. made her see a breast surgeon. better safe than sorry.
