I went for my growth sono last week and the baby is breech
I am only 27 wks. My dr. send patients for 2 growth sono's. One at 26 wks and one at 35 wks. I went to my dr. last night and the baby is in breech position. Will he move by the time I am ready to give birth or will he stay like this? I am scared of getting a C-section.

A couple of the books that I've been reading, written by midwives, discuss trying get to the baby to turn if s/he is breech. Talk to you dr. and see if s/he might work with you to change the position. If you want the titles, I'll look through my books to see which one(s) it was. You're dr might also be able to tell you how likely it is for the baby to turn.

Re: I went for my growth sono last week and the baby is breech
you have PLENTY of time for baby to turn. I am 36 weeks and the baby is still breech. we are discussing an external version (dr. tries to manually turn the baby) but they also scheduled a c-sec for me.
so at 27 weeks i would not yet be concerned, it's when you get as far along as i am that the probability of turning drops dramatically. gotta laugh about it.
some people also try accupuncture and moxibustion as alternative methods. check out spinningbabies.com

Re: I went for my growth sono last week and the baby is breech
yes, plenty of time. I had 2 breech babies for the entire pregnancies..... My second one however did turn during my 36th week. I actually felt her doing so in my sleep on night. WHile I did have to have a c/s for my first because he remained breech, I was able to have a vaginal birth for my second. Either way, they were both great experiences.

Re: I went for my growth sono last week and the baby is breech
I went in for a sono at 30 weeks to check the location of the placenta and the baby was breech. I had an appointment on Wednesday and baby is head down. (I am 35 wks today)

If at 32 weeks the baby is still breech you can discuss the extranet verision with your OB. You can also stand more, sit less, sit on a birthing ball instead of a chair, and other natural ways of helping the baby to turn. Some babies turn very late.

Yes, you have plenty of time.
I'm 26 weeks and both are breech right now.
My practice makes a decision at week 32 to do a c-section with multiples because they run out of room to turn earlier.
You have plenty of time. They could change positions several times between now and then.
Don't worry

My daughter was transverse right up until I had a c/s scheduled. Then the little brat turned head down.

Re: I went for my growth sono last week and the baby is breech
I was thinking 27 wks is way early to consider a baby breach - I'm not a dr. though - but find out how often babies turn from wk 27 to the date of their birth....

Re: I went for my growth sono last week and the baby is breech
Most babies start out breech there is plenty of time and room for this baby to flip. At my 28wk sono DD was still breech. She turned at 29wks I remember feeling tons of activity and sure enough at the next sono she was head down.
