Ice Cream Shoppe in Brooklyn for Private Party
Does anyone know of a 50s style ice cream parlor in Brooklyn that has a private room? Please let me know!

Ample Hill
Ample HIll is right by my house and the ice cream is GOOD. it's also near the Barclay Center, a bunch of restaurants, and walkable from the LIRR Atlantic Terminal (maybe half a mile or 2 stops on the 2/3 train). though you would have run of the store, it's not really a big space to begin with. not like a diner type space.
I've never been to Brooklyn Farmacy but it's on my list.
I am keeping these in mind for Luce's birthday already lol.

I didn't even know Ample Hill had a private room, but I can also vouch for their ice cream being really good.

thanks! i called brooklyn farmacy this morning but their private room hours on the weekend don't work for me.  ill check out ample hill!
ETA...doesnt look like they'll work either. i'm making my dad a 60th birthday party and it looks like they only do adult parties really late at night.

I don't know if you are going to find a place like that for him, Diana. I was going to suggest Jahn's but they are all closed. Juniors is an option, bc they do have ice cream but I wouldn't do it there.
one thing I can suggest is to call Greenhouse Cafe. it's probably not what they would normally do, but when I had my bridal shower there, my MOH talked to them and came up with a menu to do a "tea party". they MAY be able to work with you in one of the private rooms where you can incorporate an ice cream theme.
Anatoli's is an ice cream shop in Bay Ridge, but it's really a diner. it doesn't have a soda jerk or anything like that :( they have gone the way of the Dodo, I am afraid.

i was telling my mom this morning Jahns would have been perfect! i went there after every dance recital.
she was saying if we can't do an old fashioned ice cream place then somewhere else in bay ridge. but im trying to think of a fun place, not just a typical restaurant. KWIM?

ohmygod..i need to look at the icecream place for jack's next birthday party.

I haven't been there in years, but it's a cute place and it just reopened with new owners. The is a municipal lot right across the street for parking, since street parking sucks in Bay Ridge.

about 15 years ago i went to a birthday party at McDonald's on Bay Parkway (around 70th street?). They have a downstairs and the theme was 50's ice cream parlor!! They had the black and white tile floors, juke boxes, and of course ice cream
it has been over a decade, so they may have revamped the place. and you may really not want to hold a party in a McD's...but it may be worth looking into.

another idea...mona lisa bakery on 86th street. they have lots of gelato options and menu too - have brick oven pizza, paninis, etc.

Eddies Sweet Shop is a gem but its on metropolitan in Queens. The ice cream is amazing and so is the place.
