I don't know where I saw it originally, but here's examples of ideas that I thought were kind of cute:

Here are the links to where I got the pics from, what do you think? Cute idea?

this is what we did. we had an apricot kitchen once, we painted the parts that are wallpapered the apricot color.

then we painted it a canary yellow and did the same thing.

greenfreak - it adds a little more "depth" (if you will) to the room / hallway. i think it's cool. BUT, don't go nuts. you will get sick of it faster than you think you would.. believe me.. i am kinda off the wall with unconventional things and i have DH change things all the time.

Re: Idea yay or nay: wallpapering doors

Not a fan, sorry. If you want to do something different with your doors, paint them. If you sell your house or get tired of the look, it's much easier to change it.

Love this idea.

This is Raffia textured tan wallpaper.

I would do something neutral so you don't get sick of it. Or of course painting is easier. Chat Icon

Re: Idea yay or nay: wallpapering doors

I say nay - only because it looks like your panels are raised in the boxes...

I def wouldn't wallpaper either - you're not planning on staying in your home long-term right? I would go with paint if you want to re-sell eventually.

Nah, I don't really like how it looks. But I don't mind the paint so much.

Re: Idea yay or nay: wallpapering doors

They look nice but after having just stripped our house of wallpaper left by the previous owner, the thought of it anywhere in the house makes me Chat Icon. Perhaps consider painting the doors and using stencils to achieve a similar effect?

Re: Idea yay or nay: wallpapering doors

Thanks everyone Chat Icon

You're right, we're not planning on staying forever, so maybe paint is the best way to go.

Our panels are sunken, not raised. I actually have to re-paint my front door anyway because there are chips in the paint!

Yay, absolutely!

I have to say when I read the title of your post I pictured the entire door wallpapered, kind of like it would be covered in wrapping paper or something Chat Icon but those pics are very chic!

Dont like it one bit... And honestly that would be a PITA to take off when you go to sell bc chances are some buyers wont like it either..

if they are hollow doors, you probably wouldn't even be able to take it off. pushing that hard to scrap it off could lead to you putting a hole in.

I'm glad you decided to go with paint Chat Icon

Re: Idea yay or nay: wallpapering doors

I think the pictures u put up look beautiful but in reality my decorating style is very basic so I probably would stick with white. Plus some of the girls bring up a very valid point. It took me 3 hours last weekened to remove a wall paper type border that the previous owners put on the walls of their babies room and by the time it was done I wanted to choke someone! I think that experience turned me off from any type of wallpapering.
