Bowling or Movies? We looked into Karts once and it was $50 PER KID ($499 for 10 kids). NUTS!

Monster Mini golf is great too and their prices were reasonable for the amount of kids you get. Their party room is awesome as well!

I agree. We did Monster last year and the kids had a blast. So did the parents. Very affordable.
We are doing the movies this year. Elwood Theater in Northport. They are very affordable. $350 for 30 kids and parents are free.
We wanted to do the Karts in Ronkonkoma but way to expensive for us.
You can also do a bowling party. The one in Sayville off sunrise is nice. They do a lights off or lights on party. Both are fun. The one we went to had the lights off (they have like black lights instead) and blasting music. The kids loved it.

Re: Ideas for 8 year old boy birthday party
Karate parties are the cheapest (one price, unlimited kids!)
We've done Laser land; Laser Kingdom, Dave & Busters, movie parties, bowling parties, sports parties, etc.
If you work out the finances, you may find that it's cheaper to just go to these places without booking a party & then go out for pizza afterwards.
Also for Elwood - it's a 10am-ish party. We brought in bagels, juice & coffee for the adults. The popcorn & soda are included so you may want to ask for fruit punch since it's the morning. If you get your bagels, dont' go to the place that's iin the shopping center. It's crowded in the morning. They made me wait in line to pay & charged to cut all of the bagels. Bagel Boss across the street was much better when we did our second party at Elwood.

You can also have a after school party at elwood (M-Th) I think it starts at 4 or 5pm.
This is good to know since we are having DS bday there and are bringing bagels and coffee.
